Collection of clothing for families in need in the Moscow region

Dear parishioners of the Russian Orthodox Church:

At our Liturgy in November we collected a large amount of clothing and footware.

This has now been sorted and two 20 kg packages are on their way to the
center for social support for low-income and large
families of the Moscow Eparchy at the Donskoy Monastery in
Moscow. The head of the monastery, Hieromonk
Cosma, and has confirmed that they would be happy to receive help
from us in the form of clothes and shoes for all ages.

Anna, Natalia, Olga, Tatyana

We still need to cover some of the courier costs and will be making a collection at our next liturgy.

We welcomed the resumption of Divine Liturgy in our Parish on June 17th, the Sunday of the Saints of Britain and Ireland.

Our previous Liturgy was before Great Lent with Fr Dmitry (Karpenko) in February. Then there was the well-attended solemn occasion of the Office of Holy Unction with Fr Anthony (Ilin).

Vladika Matthew has now given Fr Joseph (Skinner) the responsibility for the Parish. The Divine Liturgy was conducted with duly reverent ceremonial accompanied by the substantial choir. Finally a litya was celebrated for Alan Eades, a former Warden of the Parish.

Fr Joseph announced that the next Divine Liturgy will be on Sunday July 15th at 11.00, the celebration of our Patronal Festival of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.

THE grave of a Russian princess left barely recognisable has been restored to look as good as new.
This year the 300th Anniversary of the presence of the Russian Church in the UK is being celebrated. The highlight will be the re-dedication of the Cathedral of the Dormition in London by the Patriarch of Moscow and All-Russia, Metropolitan Kirill.
