Welcome to the website of the Orthodox Parish of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. We are a community of Orthodox Christians living in Portsmouth and the surrounding areas. Some of us come from traditionally Orthodox countries, while others are local people who have discovered and embraced the Orthodox faith. We belong to the Diocese of Sourozh, which was founded by the ever-memorable Metropolitan Anthony of Sourozh and is part of the Russian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate). As the only Orthodox church in Portsmouth, we seek to be a spiritual home for all Orthodox Christians in the area. We also warmly welcome those who wish to explore Orthodoxy and experience the Divine Liturgy. The services are held in both Church-Slavonic and English languages. Our heavenly patrons are the leading Apostles, Peter and Paul, who together with the other Apostles, proclaimed the Good News of Jesus Christ throughout the ancient world. With their prayers, we strive to live by and bear witness to the same apostolic faith today. As a relatively small community without a church building of our own, we are grateful for the opportunity to gather once a month, usually on the third Sunday, at St Colman’s Church Hall in Cosham. We would be very happy to meet you there. Orthodox services also take place in our sister Parish of St. Silouan of Mt Athos in Southampton.

Многие из нас выходцы из традиционно-православных стран, другие прихожане — это местные жители, принявшие Православие. Наш приход принадлежит Сурожской епархии, основанной приснопамятным митрополитом Антонием Сурожским, в составе Русской Православной Церкви (Московского Патриархата). Являясь единственным православным приходом в Портсмуте, мы хотели бы стать духовным домом для всех православных христиан, а также приветствовать тех, кто только бы хотел познакомиться с Православием и опытом Божественной Литургии. Богослужения проходят на церковно-славянском и английском языках. Небесные покровители нашего прихода, первоверховные апостолы Петр и Павел, вместе с другими апостолами провозглашали благую весть об Иисусе Христе в древние времена. С их молитвенной помощью, мы стремимся жить и свидетельствовать о той же апостольской вере и сегодня. Поскольку у нашей общины нет собственного храма, мы благодарны за возможность встречаться раз в месяц, обычно в третьи выходные, в холле при церкви Св. Колмана в Кошаме. Также, Богослужения проходят в Приходе Св. Силуана Афонского в Саутгемптоне.
